Touring Directly to Primary Schools
From Monday 13th to Friday 24th of october 2025
The focus of this show is on young people’s role in fighting climate change. It covers elements relevant to SCIENCE, GEOGRAPHY and SPHE. Various aspects of this issue are discussed: from the beauty and delicacy of nature to the environmental and social impacts of mobile phone production (i.e. their carbon footprint and child labour).
The show is also available in Irish. This version covers all of the same topics as the English version but with a strong emphasis on making the Irish language accessible. This ensures that students can have a robust educational experience in Irish that is both interactive and enjoyable.
The performance is enhanced by a bilingual Resource Handout in full color, tailored for the show. This useful tool summarizes and elaborates on the main points discussed during the performance, and includes engaging activities for the students.
WHY SHOULD WE SAVE OUR PLANET?
The performance presents examples of why our planet is so unique: from the fascinating behaviour of animals to how trees communicate. Using practical demonstrations these often complex features of nature are placed in an accessible context for the students.
WHAT IS OUR IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT?
The show also confronts the real and practical aspects of our everyday lives that contribute to climate change and offers practical steps that the students can take to make a difference.
These intricate issues are discussed in a down-to-earth style using a subtle mix of humour and honesty to inform students of the real facts while keeping the performance entertaining and dynamic.
As with all of our shows, students play an active part. Volunteers help with practical demonstrations to illustrate these issues to the rest of the audience.
